MapInfo Pro 7.5 was announced in June 2003 and shipped on schedule in September, 2003. 

The most important new features of Rev 7.5 are:

• Display Excel worksheets with 65,000+ rows, without translation.

• Bundled Workspace packager tool:  efficiently archive or move your workspaces, including maps.

• Higher-resolution fill patterns and symbols for clearer thematic maps.

• Faster screen-redraw for scanned maps and other raster map layers.

• Snap, "cross-hairs", hot-keys, "print-to-scale" & other ease-of-use enhancements.

• Use maps served by remote "web map servers" (WMS).

• Connect to Oracle 9.03 databases including spatial objects in the RDBMS, without middleware.

Even better data access:

• Excel:  Display worksheets with 65,536 rows, the most allowed by Microsoft (previous limit was 32,768).  Still the only GIS to display XLS without translation.

• Web map servers:  Connect to remote OGC-compliant web map servers (WMS) and use their aerial photo or other maps in *your* map windows.  Note:  Can your competitive GIS do this?

• Oracle 9.03:  Support for this new version including spatial objects in the RDBMS.  Because MapInfo Pro connects without "middleware" it can share spatial data stored in Oracle by CAD and other GIS software.

• XP-certified:  Still the only "logo-certified" GIS for XP Pro & XP Home; still compatible with Windows 2000, Windows NT 4 and, even, Windows 98 (SE).

• Faster screen-redraws, even with detailed aerial photos or grid map layers.

• Simplified geo-referencing of aerial and other raster map layers.

• Map precision:  CAD-like "cross-hairs" for careful node positioning.

• Fewer keystrokes:  More short-cut key combos.

• Printed map standardization:  Improved "print-to-scale" interface (without changing frame size).

• New higher-resolution fill patterns on the palette (up to 32x32 pixels).
