Announcement!

As of August 2011, MultiPrint has become a feature set within MapGen v11.5, SGSI's map-builder tool.  It has also been enhanced.

MapGen v11.5 has two distinct feature sets:
Batch workspace printing (formerly MultiPrint); and
   Batch map generation.
Users may license either or both features.

The cost to license MultiPrint functionality, within the new MapGen v11.5 interface, remains the same:  $50/user.

This page has not been revised to reflect new "MultiPrint" features of MapGen v11.5.

Overview

Ever wanted to print batches of maps? Tired of waiting for your printer? With SGSI's MultiPrint, just specify a list of MapInfo workspaces, then let MapInfo print each one automatically. Kick off SGSI's MultiPrint at the end of the day, then come in the next morning to find hundreds or even thousands of finished, printed maps.

MultiPrint is installed as a separate menu option within MapInfo Pro, so it is always available when you need it.

    Features

Launch MultiPrint via the MapInfo Pro menu using MapInfo Pro v10.0 or higher:  e.g.,

Main menu > Tools > Run MapBasic program ...

Like other MBX-based tools, MultiPrint can be automatically installed, each time you start MapInfo Pro. To do this, use MapInfo's standard Tool Manager.  e.g.,

.   Main menu > Tools > Tool Manager ...

Creating a new workspace list

Specify what to print by selecting Workspace files interactively.

Re-order the list by workspace date, name or folder, by clicking on column titles in the list.

Saving and loading lists of workspaces

Click "Save" to save the list for future use The list is saved as a standard MapInfo *.tab format table.

To re-use a previously-saved list, click "Load" then browse to that table.

Output to printer or image files

A standard workspace file includes a printer reference for each layout, map or browser window.  MultiPrint reads that reference and directs your output to the specified printer, plotter or other output device.

Alternatively, MultiPrint optionally outputs JPG, PNG or other image file formats.

Monitoring processing

MultiPrint displays processing information on screen as maps are printed.

In addition to this real-time display, MultiPrint simultaneously creates a separate, text-based log file.
